You pose like Christ in sacrifice, your nails are digging deep A whiskey haze keeps you awake as I rock you back to sleep. Your tangled mind is ready, your skin as cold as stone It’s a good thing we’re together now, home is not a place to feel alone. We’re searching for a promised land, so darling take my hand Music is the language of the soul, so put your faith in rock ’n roll This old heart is barely keeping time and these eyes have lost their shine There are things you’ll never understand, Iwas struggling to survive. I journeyed with my anger and came out on the other side Climb aboard you can be my anchor, hang on, enjoy the ride. We’re searching for a promised land, so darling take my hand Music is the language of the soul, so put your faith in rock ’n roll

I Have Music 05:11
I was left on the fringes, when all my friends had kids, it’s really hard to fit in when all you talk about is the weather. I could wrap myself in work, but I don’t like it anymore, I just stare out of the window and wish myself into the ocean. When I turned 43, I had the worst year of my life, 2021 that’s where it all begun, a year of loss and tragedy, dark days turned into months, lifetime angels left my shore, it happened more than once before, but I have music, music and the memory of you. The devil pushed me to the edge, the walls were closing in, shadows falling, growing deeper, sunlight fading, growing weaker. Ten years later my friends said there is a change in me, the change is on the outside on the inside it’s still me. Hurting, shading finding glory, glory in the sun. Punching, kicking me awake, it helps me when I’m numb. The words all fly around my head, the music guides me through, the kindness in the photographs, the memories of you, but I have music, music and the memory of you. Guide me through, fly me to the stars and let me hear the music

Peat Bog Fly 02:52
Tiny, grimy little hitchhiker buzzing all around (Buzz, buzz, buzz) Taunting us, all day long, with his buzzing sound (Buzz, buzz, buzz) Annoying free rider, illegal occupier, you’re worse than a big, hairy spider. Peat bog fly, peat bog fly, you’re a dirty little guy Peat bog fly, oh peat bog fly, why won’t you die? Miles and miles and miles and miles until we reach our destination. Your high-pitched drone fills my mind and it’s becoming a frustration. Beady eyes, spindly legs, our nerves are all torn to shreds, you’re worse than a cockroach in my bed. You should be gone at all costs, just I thought all was lost You zipped out of the window, but in flew a wasp.

Rescue Me 05:26
I can see that you are grieving, I don’t know what to say I can see your eyes are pleading, but I was never brought up that way. I don’t exist in your mind, I’m no longer a memory You lost your faith in humankind, but I can give you my guarantee. If you pull me out of this mess, I promise to be true If you save me from this hate of mine, I’ll give my love to you Rescue me, oh rescue me Hold me tight, set me free, save me from my misery. Every rule I had to follow pushed me away from you And every lie I had to swallow turned out to be true Because if you’re telling me to go there must be someone in my place I’m gonna take with me all my hope and all the dreams we said we’d make I’ve tried to make a difference in others’ lives, I’ve tried to make a change in mine. Truth is, I don’t give a damn, truth is, it’s a waste of time.

I'll Wait 02:52
I lay back in my easy chair and stare at the rain coming down, I smile to myself and remember when you were around The sun we shared, still fades from the sky and I watch the clock as the hours go by… The storm may be over, but the roads are still covered in leaves, I wait for the mail man and look to the end of my street The sun we shared, still fades from the sky and I watch the clock as the hours go by… No, it’s not easy, you’re no longer mine. I only drink when I think about you, but I think about you all the time. The sun we shared, still fades from the sky and I watch the clock as the hours go by…. And I’ll wait.

Count On Me 03:58
I made a promise a long time ago, that I would never ever leave you alone I’ll be there when you need me to be, oh yeah, you can count on me If you need me just hold out your hand, if you’re hurting, I’ll understand. I’ll be there when you need me to be, oh yeah, you can count on me. I’ll be your hero I’ll save you from danger, I’ll be your Batman, I’ll be your Lone Ranger, I ‘ll be your Elvis baby, your entertainer, uh uh, you can count on me When times are dark and you’re searching for light, you’re feeling lonely in the middle of the night. I’ll be there when you need me to be, oh yeah, you can count on me. When there’s shadow at the break of dawn and you think that all hope is gone I’ll be there when you need me to be, oh yeah, you can count on me. One – One for the lonely Two – for the friendship you’ve shown me Three – for the heartache that knows me 1,2,3, well you can count on me Four – starts a new day Five – you won’t keep me away Six – I’ll be there by your side 1,2,3, well you can count on me Seven – put your head on my shoulder Eight – ‘cos when it’s all over Nine – because in the end 1,2,3, well you can count on me I’ll be your hero I’ll save you from danger, I’ll be your Batman, I’ll be your Lone Ranger, I ‘ll be your Elvis baby, your entertainer, uh uh, you can count on me

I hear her echo in the kitchen, I see her shadow in the hall Heading to the light, she waves to me, I’m just not ready for that call She opens the door, invites me in, my heart’s beating like a drum. There’re so many words but no music there, but I know the music will come. From plastic clouds came the Playdough rain, the Lego sun came out to play, Said everything would be ok, it was the last perfect day. It was the last perfect day, I ever spent with you. It was the last perfect day, the sky was perfect blue It was the last perfect day; I saw the sadness in your eyes It was the last perfect day, The perfect day for goodbye If I had five minutes left on Earth with you, I’d pretend I was asleep. You broke my heart, you broke my life, you broke everything in-between It was the last perfect day, I watched the shadows cross your face It was the last perfect day, the perfect time and perfect place It was the last perfect day, watching the perfect sunset fall It was the last perfect day, it was not perfect after all

Blather 02:15
Woah oh, oh Woah Woah Private moments of random thoughts, a song that makes no sense Greedy potions of sanity like ravens on a fence. Dark Sid the wolf moon brings joy to your bones Meat Loaf angel on our shoulder, safe from parking woes. Makes no sense to anyone but you, makes no sense to anyone but me, Makes no sense, makes no sense, makes no sense at all. Woah oh, oh Woah Woah Another day in the pickle factory chasing wrong directions Kicking off in Nutter Town, hazy crazy connections The poppadom incident, generates a fight Polarising olives, they’re marching through the night

To My Life 04:10
Two years in the wilderness will make you lose your mind A mind that hasn’t that much left to lose. I was forced to do everything I could to survive I’m thinking clear and I’m no longer confused. I’m on my way back, I’m on my way back, I’m on my way back, to my life I left no-one behind me to miss me when I left, well, no-one I would consider close the trees around me cast the shadows of the place and of the strangers I have missed the most Packed my bag, hit the road, say goodbye, To the people, that have helped me, to survive And return, to my former, hated life Make a change sort it out and do it right.

That's Me 06:30
I’m a stranger, you don’t really know me, but I’m everything you see, That’s me, that’s me. I’m a puzzle, I’m happy when you call, bit I won’t pick up at all, That’s me, that’s me. You’re stuck with my crazy, you’re stuck with my crazy, you’re stuck with my crazy, oh that’s me. I’m a loner, I like my company best, but I like to be kissed, That’s me, that’s me. I’m trouble, I’ll be bad for you, but I’m worth the risk it’s true, That’s me, that’s me. I’m afraid, you won’t like my ways, I’m afraid, I won’t make the grade. I’m waking, with the feeling of your touch, and I love you so much

Closing Time 03:57
I caught her eye when she walked through the door I asked her to dance on that hardwood floor Put a dollar in the jukebox and played a slow song by Dwight. The neon light made her eyes shine Had a couple of whiskeys and a bottle of wine We left that honky tonk, and I walked her home I was the closest one at closing time We had the time of our lives Her husband and her had just had a fight And I was just the closest one at closing time. I was drinking a beer on my favourite stool When she drifted again into that room The girl I’d fallen in love with just the night before As she two stepped to me ‘cross that sawdust Her boyfriend followed her through that door She took a dollar from his pocket and played a slow song by Dwight I was the closest one at closing time I watched them dancing side by side And I’m so lonesome I could cry And I was just the closest one at closing time. Before they turned out that neon sign I turned to the closest girl by my side I put a dollar in the jukebox and played some Patsy Cline As we slowed danced together, I saw my future in her eyes She was the closest one at closing time We stayed up all night to watch the sun rise It turned out to be the best night of my life And she was the closest one at closing time. She was the closest one at closing time She’s the best damn thing in my life We were side by side when we walked down the aisle And she was the closest one at closing time. She was the closest one at closing time She’s the best damn thing in my life I tell the story to our kids about that night

I got a bone to pick and an axe to grind. I got crazy thoughts running through my crazy mind I’m screaming blue murder looking for a fight I’m gonna break loose just like dynamite You think you’re big and bad and volatile But compared with me baby, you’re just a little child I’m dirty trouble and a tough renegade I’ll take you down baby like a hand grenade Don’t worry baby, I know what you did I said don’t worry baby, I know what you did I’m a downright, dirty, big bad, double dealing, dirty rotten, cheating Vermicious Knid You ain’t so big and bad, you ain’t so mighty tough You’re made of better things baby, you’re made of kinder stuff Let’s forget what we did, let’s forget what we said Let’s forget this fight baby and let’s go back to bed.
